As a result of development of their existing premises at Brunel University campus the renowned Rambert School of Ballet and Contemporary Dance relocated to new premises on a nearby site in Twickenham. The property consisted of a new-built performance dance studio and associated welfare and hygiene facilities, integration of new basement level and ground level dance studios adjacent to the existing listed administration building, and the conversion of an adjacent chapel to provide two additional studios.
The challenges, particularly in the converted areas was to control the atmosphere in what are extremely physical activity areas, whilst allowing for varied uses at different times in the curriculum. |
